Restore the Restorer: An Experiential Retreat for Helping Professionals

$100.00

Restore the Restorer: An Experiential Retreat for Helping Professionals invites mental health professionals to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the practices that support sustainable work in the helping professions. This experiential retreat explores the impact of vicarious trauma and the emotional weight of clinical work while creating intentional space for restoration, self-care, embodied practice, and connection with peers.

Through education, reflection, peer consultation, and restorative practices, participants will explore how the work we do can shape our own nervous systems, relationships, and sense of well-being. Together, we will consider what it means to care for ourselves while continuing to care deeply for others—and how sustainable practice requires more than simply knowing what to do; it requires making space to experience and practice restoration ourselves.

As part of the retreat, Linda Mabe, M.Ed., LMFT, of Wellsprings Counseling Group will lead a restorative yoga experience designed to offer therapists an intentional space to slow down, reconnect with the body, and receive rather than continually give. Through supported restorative postures, gentle breathwork, nervous system regulation, and self-compassion practices, participants will be invited to notice their own needs and create space for rest and restoration. No previous yoga experience is needed, and all practices can be adapted for individual comfort.

Participants will also engage in facilitated discussion and peer consultation focused on recognizing and responding to vicarious trauma, identifying personal and professional signs of depletion, and developing practical strategies for maintaining sustainable clinical practice.
