Playing Across the Lifespan with Adult Clients, led by Kristel Headley, Ph.D., LPC/MHSP(S), ACS, RPT-S, BC-TMH, Assistant Dean and Professor of Counseling at Richmont Graduate University, explores how expressive and play-based interventions can deepen therapeutic work with adult clients. While play is often associated with children, creative expression can help adults access emotions, increase self-awareness, strengthen therapeutic engagement, and process experiences that may be difficult to reach through conversation alone.
Participants will explore the theoretical foundations of incorporating play into adult counseling, experience practical interventions they can immediately integrate into clinical practice, and examine the ethical and cultural considerations that support responsible use of expressive techniques across diverse client populations.
